This Mexico 2004 retro shirt brings back one of the cleanest away designs El Tri has ever worn. Mexico wore this white shirt in key international fixtures between 2004 and 2006, including the 2004 Copa América in Peru and the 2005 Confederations Cup in Germany.
Under Ricardo La Volpe, this Mexico side played fast, confident, possession football. The squad was built around Rafael Márquez at the back, Pavel Pardo running the midfield, Oswaldo Sánchez in goal and Jared Borgetti leading the line. At the 2005 Confederations Cup they beat Brazil 1-0 in the group stage with a Borgetti header. They went all the way to the semi-finals, where they lost to Argentina on penalties after a 1-1 draw. It’s still one of the best tournament runs by a Mexico team outside a World Cup.
The design is simple and confident. The body is crisp white, and the green collar has a red inner trim that nods to the national colours. Green piping sweeps from the shoulders down both sides of the front, and green panels finish the cuffs. The embroidered national crest sits in the centre of the chest, which is a distinctive choice for the era, and the drop hem at the back completes the classic mid-2000s shape.
It’s made from lightweight, breathable fabric, so it’s just as good on matchday or at five-a-side as it is on a night out or as a collector’s piece. If you remember the Borgetti years or you just love an understated classic, this shirt belongs in your collection.

Shirts are replicas and not official football jerseys, however after purchasing a second shirt from this website and realising they were replicas & not being impressed with the quality, I emailed the company. The company dealt with this great and apologised for the confusion on the authenticity of the shirts and offered to send me a free shirt of my choice. I think perhaps the website should be clearer that the shirts are not real as I wouldn’t have paid what I did for the previous two, however I must say the customer service was great. They replied fast and exactly 2 weeks later I received the free shirt I chose, hence why I’ve left a 4 star review :)
